Taking place at Coffs Harbour Racing Club on Saturday, 29th October, Banana Field Music Festival features 3 stages, with a bill of over 30 national and local artists. Headliners include ILLY, BRITISH INDIA, ART VS SCIENCE, LDRU, THE DELTA RIGGS, HOCKEY DAD, PHEBE STARR, MALLRAT & LUNAR GRAND.

They'll be supported by a stellar local line up, alongside an Electronic Music stage featuring International Progressive Trance heavyweights Fabio & Moon and Interstate Made in Paris

Gates open at 11:30am on Saturday and we don't stop partying until 10.00pm.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is the festival all ages?

Yes, there are licensed areas which will be restricted to over 18s. Bring Photo ID for entry into the licenced areas.

What is the date and time of the festival?

Saturday, 29th October from 11:30am to 10.00pm

Do I have to wear a wristband?

Yes, everyone within the festival is required to wear a wristband at all times. On entry to the festival, your ticket will be exchanged for a wristband. Your wristband will act as your pass so it must be worn at all times. Without the wristband you will not gain entry.

Can I drink alcohol at the festival?

Yes. You must be over 18 years to drink alcohol. There are several licensed bars within the festival venue. Please ensure to bring along a valid and current form of photo ID (eg licence, passport, Australia Post key pass, and proof of age card). All alcoholic beverages must be consumed within the designated areas. Bags will be inspected upon entry by security. No alcohol may be bought into the festival as it is against liquor licensing laws. It will be confiscated and disposed of and you will risk not being approved entry if you are caught.

Can I park at the festival?

There is plenty of parking available at the Racing course (see map). Parking is prohibited along Howard St. Parking at the festival site is a $5 fee per car. Catching the shuttle bus service is highly recommended which will take you to and from the festival. Please organize your transport home in advance.

Can I buy food at the festival?

Definitely! There will be a great variety of food stalls available at the festival venue.

Can I bring food, drinks or alcohol into the festival?

No food is to be brought into the festival. If you have allergies that require food to be brought please explain your situation to security at the front gates. Sealed bottled water may be brought into the festival, but we have bottled water for sale and free water onsite so it's not really necessary! All bags will be searched on entry by security. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES CAN ALCOHOL BE BROUGHT INTO THE FESTIVAL.

Is there an ATM at the festival?

Yes, ATMs are available within the festival grounds.

What should I bring?

ID - you must present your ID on entry to the festival to validate age (acceptable forms of identification are DRIVERS LICENCE, PASSPORT, AUST POST KEYPASS and PROOF OF AGE CARD in accordance with liquor licensing laws)

Remember to include your contact details on any medication in case you happen to lose medication and it can be handed in.

Money and tickets. There will be no refunds for tickets purchased in advance.

Sun protection including hat and sunscreen. If you choose to bring a jacket you can leave it in the cloak room.

If it's forecast to rain bring along wet weather gear as the festival will continue rain, hail or shine. For safety reasons UMBRELLAS ARE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE FESTIVAL.

You can bring a picnic rug, collapsible camping chairs, inflatables however these must not be within 100m of main stage.

What should I leave at home?

Pets, director chairs, umbrellas, eskys, glass, alcohol or drugs, weapons (including pocket knives), fireworks and anything flammable or dangerous. These items will be confiscated on entry.

Can I bring my camera?

Yes you can bring a small still camera or digital camera. Professional cameras or recording devices will be confiscated.

Is there anything else I need to know about the festival?

If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol you will be refused entry. For the safety of all patrons we have the right to refuse entry where we see fit. There will be fencing patrolled by security guards at all times, so forget about trying to sneak in. Police will deal with any offenders. Crowd surfing in not permitted and mashers risk being ejected from the festival venue and refused further entry.

Will first aid be available?

Yes, there will be two first aid areas at the festival.

Can I buy merchandise at the festival?

Yes definitely! There will be a stall at the festival where you can purchase artist merchandise.

Will there be a cloak room available?

Yes, there will be a cloak room at the festival located on entry near the information booth. Details to be announced soon.

Are pass-outs permitted?

For the safety of all patrons, there are strictly NO pass-outs at The Banana Music Festival. This means once you leave the festival, your wristband will be removed and you will be unable to gain entry back into the festival. If you believe that you have a legitimate reason to leave the festival, please email us to discuss your circumstances. We thank you for your understanding and hope to make this the best day for you, so you won't want to leave!

Is there wheelchair access?

Yes.

What is the security like?

Security will be highly active and visible during the festival.

Is smoking allowed?

NO - this is a non smoking event, but there are designated smoking areas.

Getting There


PUBLIC BUSES - Busways runs public buses in the Coffs Harbour area. Visit their website for timetable information.

PARKING - Parking is $5 CASH ONLY per vehicle parking can only be accessed via Hogbin Drive. Please take NOTE that you cannot TURN RIGHT into the Car Park from Hogbin Drive you must continue around the roundabout and return.

DISABLED PARKING - Disabled parking is adjacent to the festival entry on presentation of the correct disabled parking permit. Entry is via Hogbin Drive

DROP OFF & PICK UP ZONE - This zone acts like an airport and you can only stop here when dropping people off or picking someone up that is ready waiting.  Entry via Howard St and located adjacent to the Driving Range NO PARKING and NO STOPPING PERMITTED on Howard St outside this Zone

TAXI RANK - A taxi rank will be located at the Entry of the Racing Club.

Leaving the Festival

Please be patient when leaving the festival, with so many people attending this can take some time but some info to help you out.

SHARE A RIDE - Arrange a group ride with your mates at the end of the night.

PARKING - Please be patient with exiting the venue everyone will be trying to leave at the same time.

DROP OFF PICK UP ZONE - If your ride turns up and you are not there they will be told to circle again. Like an airport they can only stop once you are there to collect. So give them a heads up when you are at the spot to collect.

TAXI - Services are limited and will endeavour to provide the most efficient service possible but plan ahead grab a couple of people heading in the same direction to share a taxi.  The taxi rank will be set up at the Entry of the Racing Club.
